Sex and the Married Detective deterioration the third episode of the ordinal season of Columbo.

Dr. Joan Allenby (Lindsay Crouse) is a well-known, nationally projecting sex therapist, author of best-selling books and host of a radio call-in show as well as the administrator of an institute on sexual digging. Her lover, partner and business administrator is David Kincaid (Stephen Macht). Individual evening, Joan is scheduled to attitude to Chicago for a radio symposium. However, her flight is delayed question paper to fog. Rather than wait make a way into the airport, she decides to be busy back to her clinic, having realised she forgot some papers. While contemporary, she discovers David in the institute's bed room (basically a sex space for clients of the institute), getting sex with Cindy Galt, Joan's intense secretary.
